Health - NCEA Level 3

Entry Requirements: 14 credits at NCEA Level 2 Health, or at Head of Learning's discretion.


Course Outline:

Students learn that well-being is a combination of the physical, mental and emotional, and social and spiritual aspects of people's lives. They learn to think critically and to make meaning of the world around them by exploring health- related contexts. They learn how to bring about sustainable health-enhancing change for individuals, communities, and society. Areas of study will cover:

  • Analysing a New Zealand health issue
  • Analysing an international health issue
  • Evaluating health practices currently used in New Zealand
  • Analysing a contemporary ethical issue in relation to well-being


Assessment:

  • Internal credits - up to 14
  • External credits - up to 5
  • Total credits - up to 19


Approved subject for University Entrance: This subject is considered an Approved Subject for University Entrance
