English as a Second Language (ESOL) - International English - Level 2

Entry Requirements: For International Students and for Students whose first language is not English.


Course Outline:

Level 2 International English students continue to build on the knowledge and skills gained at NCEA Level 1. They will be working towards achieving credits at Level 2 and 3 English Language (ESOL). Students may complete assessments in all four strands: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. They will also be offered up to 8 English credits which contribute towards the required Literacy credits for University Entrance. Students who have not yet met the Numeracy and Literacy co-requisite for NCEA Level 1 will be given reading and writing activities to prepare for these assessments. In addition, IELTS preparation may begin for some students.
