School Camps

Getting to know each other in a fun, educational setting.

Year 3-8 students enjoy school camps at St George’s each year. We believe camps are a wonderful opportunity to see our children experience a range of outdoor activities which are challenging and rewarding.

Year 3-6 students alternate camps each year between Vertical Horizons in Taranaki and Camp Raukawa on the Parapara.  Our Year 3-6s head off on camp in November each year.

Year 7 and Year 8 camps are held in February each year; this gives students an opportunity to get to know each other in a fun, educational setting from the start of the school year. Old friendships are renewed and many new ones are formed.

Makahika, just outside of Otaki is the setting for the Year 7 camp. On one of the nights, the Year 7s enjoy camping out and cooking on camp fires. Year 8 students visit Mission Bay, Taupo for their start of year camp. A highlight of the Year 8 camp is completing the Tongariro Crossing.
