The School is set on a 25 hectare site, of which 17 hectares are playing fields or open space. Central to the School is the Drive, the road which runs through the grounds and is well travelled every day by students and staff commuting between buildings. The four original iconic Boarding Houses line one side and the expanse of the main field the other, divided by a magnificent pohutakawa tree standing outside the Headmaster's study and Administration building.

The Foundation Music School, opened in 1991, houses a spacious concert room, teaching & practice rooms.

The Prince Edward Auditorium –Opened in 1984 the Auditorium provides a 500 seat theatre complemented by full theatrical and audio-visual amenities. 

The Izard Sports Complex – Opened in 1994, the complex houses the central main space with rubberised playing surface, a classroom, squash courts and gymnasium facilities. An elevated area offers viewing into the complex or across the main field.

Swimming Pool –  a 25 metre, 6 lane outdoor pool, well patronised during the summer months. The pool surrounds accommodate the whole School for the Swimming Championships each February. Canoe polo & scuba diving instruction also take place here.

Big School – an historic building erected in 1911, holding 20 classrooms and a central space used for assembly, concerts, exhibitions and dinners. Honours boards and extensive trophy cabinets feature in the central space.
