Published in November 2009, For the Sake of the Black & Blue is a collection of photographs taken by staff member Rob van Dort encapsulating life at Wanganui Collegiate School between 2004 & 2009.

Along with the atmospheric historic buildings and spacious WCS campus, the book portrays in 250 colour photographs many facets of School life and student endeavour, complemented by snippets of the School's history. The book is a hardcover edition of 192 pages, with a protective dust-jacket.

All proceeds from the sale of this book will go towards establishing a memorial in the Chapel to celebrate the centenary of the School on its present site.
