Campus Projects

Whanganui Collegiate School was established on this site in 1911 and has developed into a functional and picturesque boarding and learning facility, spread over a total of 25 hectares.

In January 2016 Heritage New Zealand recognised the historical significance of Whanganui Collegiate School with a Historic Place Category 1 listing of the campus and many of its buildings. Following integration, demand for places at the School has grown and we are embarking on a journey of building new capacity that is in keeping with the School's current architecture and history.

Investment will continue in ensuring that the School's grounds and buildings are fit for purpose and cater for the academic and living needs of present and future students. The College Board commissioned architect, RTA Studio, to provide a masterplan for the campus.  This masterplan forms the guide for all future works.
